BURGESS

The Residence is located on Burgess Crescent in Mississauga, Ontario, the closest main intersection is The Collegeway and Winston Churchill. There is a private fenced in yard with a deck.

There are three furnished common rooms, two kitchens and access to on-site laundry facilities on the main floor. Each bedroom has a secure door lock and comes fully furnished with a bed, dresser drawers, night table and lamps, computer desk, chair and book shelf and closet space. Most rooms have a private or semi-private bathroom and walk-in closets. Each room is assigned a name. The kitchen cupboards, refrigerator, freezer space and mailboxes are identified accordingly.

We ask students to respect the space and privacy of everyone else and to demonstrate a cooperative spirit whenever possible. Some housemates are on non-traditional schedules. This means everyone must conduct themselves respectfully and avoid making noise whenever possible. It is both fair and appropriate that things should be quiet after 11:00 p.m.

You will be given a secure access code to the residence. For safety reasons, this code is not to be given to anyone. To ensure the safety of our students and to preserve the academic integrity of the residence environment and the security of the building, no visitors are permitted except for parents.

Students accepted into Mississauga Student Residences agree to contribute to the regular maintenance of the residence: taking the garbage out and cleaning up after yourself.

"Our son resided at the Burgess Residence for two years and had the most amazing experience living away from home. Maureen was kind, professional, accommodating, welcoming and reassuring.  The residences are safe and well managed, spacious, very clean and well kept. I highly recommend Maureen and Mississauga Student Residences."  –  Sabrina

"I have lived at Mississauga Student Residences for two year and I have made lots of memories and friends at this Residence.  I felt like it was my home away from home.  The MSR team worked really hard to keep this place organized and clean which made me feel so relaxed and comfortable every time I stepped into the Residence.  I made good friends and had great experiences.  I would recommend this residence and give it a five star rating." -  Saif

“As an international graduate student, I was really looking for a professional, furnished residence that would allow me to focus on moving to Canada and starting my program with as few headaches as possible. I was really lucky to find MSR and Maureen; they were very professional and responsive and provided a seamless transition for me. The space is very well-furnished and makes for a comfortable living environment with essentially all of the amenities that you could need. The staff take care of the little things to allow you to focus on your studies, and they're responsive to unpredictable concerns that come up. Maureen is a really nice landlady and is a great person to talk to. I had a good experience in my three years staying at an MSR residence and would definitely recommend it to other professional students looking for an equally professional place to live.”  -   Bryan

"Thanks again for your help today and over the years.  I have dealt with many landladies and you have truly been the best!  You are certainly one of a kind."  - Rav

"I want to write a testimonial about Maureen as a landlady but that doesn't do her justice so I'm going to tell my story instead.  I was an international student at the University of Toronto who was new to Canada.  I had moved into one of Maureen's Residences just two weeks after I immigrated to Canada.  I was young, naive, nervous and home sick because I had moved from my home country at a really young age. Maureen realized this and took me under her wing in every sense of the phrase.  She gave me a place to stay in her home, brought me into her family and provided me with guidance and support when I needed it.  I lived with Maureen for just about five years and in that time had grown from that naive boy to a graduate and a new home owner.  Maureen had a big role to play in that.  Maureen is not just a great landlady she is an amazing person who continually does for others.  We have kept in touch till today.  She is as I say to everyone my "Canadian Mummy"." - Jimi

"I stayed in a lot of places around the world and not many can I call home.  Living with Maureen doesn't merely feel like living in a home, but rather with a family.  She is more than a landlady, she is a friend and a family member.  She takes great care of her students and does whatever is in her power to make them feel at home.  Not only does she make the Residence safe and a clean place, but a harmonious and joyful community as well.  The guys in the house are absolutely amazing.  We have a lot of fun together from time to time.  I'm having the best time every and loving this Residence!!" - Peter

"I fully recommend the accommodations provided by Maureen. This will be my second year in the Burgess Residence and it is truly a home-away-from-home. Extremely well maintained and modern housing, complete with weekly maid service means all I really need to do is clean up after myself. Maureen is extremely accommodating and easy to speak with about anything really.  My only regret is not finding this Residence sooner!  It is a gem in the world of student housing and made for an easy transition from leaving home.  The Residence is conveniently located and close to everything I need. Although the day will eventually come, the only thing I'm not looking forward to is leaving." -  Kris

"I can only applaud the management of Mississauga Student Residences. As the parent of an international student, I can say that Maureen succeeded in creating a home away from home. My son was warmly welcomed, and Maureen also facilitated interaction with fellow house members as he was very introverted and shy. He was also very happy with his room and the furnishings. Thank you very much." –  Arleigh

"My experience with Mississauga Student Residences was excellent. I spent two years living at one of the residences while I was in school. Maureen went above and beyond to make everyone feel at home. The house was always well maintained. The neighborhood was very nice and the walking distance to transit and nearby groceries and shops was convenient. The roommates were always friendly and fun to be around. If you’re looking for a safe, friendly place to reside while studying, I have to recommend MSR. I am grateful for the time I’ve spent there! Thank you, Maureen." – Marcelo

"I lived at MSR for a total of three years. When I first moved in, I was young and still adjusting to living by myself. Maureen was so accommodating to me and made my transition much easier. It also helped that I was surrounded by like-minded university students going through the same thing. Thank you for making me who I am today Maureen!”   -  Jia Xuan
